Memorial Day is for honoring and mourning the men and women in our military who sacrificed their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It’s a holiday that has a special flower associated with it. Red poppies. They were the only flowers that grew again in the war-torn battlefields of Europe after World War 1
