Local 237's Education Department/Education Fund provides a wide variety of education programs for Citywide and Housing Division members of Local 237. The Department strives to equip our members with the skills they need to meet the challenges of the ever-changing and increasingly technologically-advanced workplace. These skills will qualify members for promotional titles and new job opportunities.
Civil Service Exam preparation classes are offered for all examinations for which members are eligible. Check the DCAS examinations announcements regularly for titles that may be of interest to you.

Free Courses for All CUNY Workers!
CUNY members can get six credits per semester at CUNY for FREE! CUNY provides education benefits to employees, to name just a few eligible Local 237 titles: CUNY Campus Peace Officers, Campus Security Assistants, Maintenance Workers, Cement Masons, Plasterers and others. The CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies (SLU) has courses available all year. SLU can work out a flexible schedule to accommodate those interested. For information, contact admissions@slu.cuny.edu

The Education Department also provides free counseling for degree programs at two-or four-year colleges. The department, however, does not provide tuition assistance for those programs members may wish to take.
