In 2007, Ms. Baez became a member of Local 237. Earlier, she was a member of DC 37 – with a total of 37 years of city service, starting as a Dietary Aide. Ms. Baez has been a shop steward and attends chapter meetings. She says that being a union member “means a lot – it’s part of being a team. The union is always there when you need it, the benefits are great and the educational programs are wonderful.”

Mr. Luna has been a Local 237 member since 1999. His title at that time was Special Patrolman. A solid union member, Mr. Luna believes in union membership because it ensures fair wages and really good benefits. In his words, “You can rely on the union if you need help.”
